There are plenty of big blockbuster movies coming out this year, some that already look awesome from their limited marketing. At this time of the year we do not normally have a big idea what the smaller movies look like in the second half of the year or what the festival circuit will bring so I have gone with the bigger movies in this post. I have also added in my most intrigued movies of 2018. Movies I know I will see but I am more intrigued to see how they go, than being excited to see them.
Here are my most anticipated movies of 2018.
9. Solo: A Star Wars Story
I am a massive Star Wars fan, and whilst I was not crying out for a young Han Solo movie, I am still interested in this movie. I loved Rogue One and the balance they found between new and old with the perfect amounts of nostalgia thrown in. Hopefully Solo can follow on from Rogue One and have a similar balance.
8. Pacific Rim: Uprising
It’s giant robots fighting giant aliens; do I really need to elaborate?
7. New Mutants
When the first trailer for this came out I was sold. A horror/ haunted house mutant movie sounds awesome and has a great cast of young actors, which is a bonus.

6. Ready Player One
I have been meaning to read the book but I can say that the marketing for this movie has me super excited to see it. The visuals look stunning, the pop culture references seem clever and the music has been awesome. Really pumped for this.

5. Deadpool 2
Ryan Reynolds is back as the Merc with the Mouth and that should make everyone excited. The first movie was a surprise hit and I can only imagine that the second one will be equally awesome.
4. Black Panther
Chadwick Boseman was amazing in Captain America: Civil War as Black Panther, and this stand alone looks like it will also be amazing. The trailers for Black Panther have been fantastic, highlighting some awesome set pieces without giving away much of the story.
3. Sicario 2: Soldado
Sicario was one of my favourite movies the year it came out, for a movie that was extremely heavy in its content, I continue to regularly watch it. I was hesitant when hearing that a sequel was coming but with Taylor Sheridan returning to write the script I was more confident. Then I saw that first teaser and I was on board with this movie, but more than that I can’t wait to see this movie.
2. Incredibles 2
Who didn’t love The Incredibles? Despite the fact it has been 14 years since the original, I am confident in Pixar and Brad Bird that they would have only made a sequel if it were going to be a good film. This is definitely a movie I cannot wait to see.
1. Avengers: Infinity War
This movie is 10 years and almost 20 movies in the making. We have never seen an event like this in film history and I am incredibly excited for it. We see all the Marvel characters come together for this event, this epic battle against Thanos and from the trailers this movie looks epic.

Most Intrigued Movies of 2018
These are the movies I will definitely see, but they are movies I am not sure how excited I am to see them just yet. Movies that could either be great or could very easily let me down, like some of their movies that have come before. Perhaps the marketing for them hasn’t one me over yet, but I will still see them based on the brand.

I started to read it but didn’t finish it because unfortunately life got in the way. I’m thinking I’m going to start reading it before bed, even a few pages a night

Wonderful list: I’m of course looking forward to the Avengers (well duh😂), and two other movies that I am highly anticipating are Alita Battle Angel and Meg.
Did not know Bumblebee would be coming out this year by the way, thought it would get a 2019 release. Wonder if that one is going to be any fun, as it’s not directed by Bay 😀

When you read about Meg is sounds like such a B movie but I think it’ll be fun.
I’m eager to see what the director of Kubo and the Two Strings can do a Transformers movie. It also has a good cast which will help.
I mean Avengers should be the top of everyone’s list for what it will mean for the Blockbuster haha

Yeah it will probably be a B-movie, but sometimes they can be a lot of fun. Hoping to see some trailers soon for this one and Bumblebee: I think 2018 is going to be a cool movie year 😀

Even some of the smaller movies look really good too. Plus most of the Oscar movies are slowing coming out now so it’s going to be a good couple of weeks

Yeah that was upsetting but oh well happens a lot. I just read it will be PG13 now also so that’s interesting.
