Pick of the Week:
I am partial to bad Gerard Butler action movies and I love Olympus has Fallen, but I have no expectations for Den of Thieves, it looks more like a home video movie than a trip to the cinema. There is much hype around Phantom Thread, given it is Daniel Day Lewis’ last film before he retires, and it has been nominated for a large number of awards, but I have minimal interest in seeing it. I will see it because I make a point to see the entire list of Oscar nominated movies but it is not high on my list. Molly’s Game on the other hand is a movie that ticks all the boxes for me to enjoy, great cast with Chastain and Elba, Aaron Sorkin involved and based on a true story. What is not to love?
Molly’s Game is my Pick of the Week

I heard that Den of Thieves was actually pretty good. Some said it’s one of Butler’s better roles again and it’s a bit of return to form for him. Let’s good so as he has really made a couple of bad career choices 😢

I don’t mind the Butler action films, maybe if I can get cheap tickets I’ll go and see it but I would be happy to watch it at home.
